I am confused. I joined this tribe to read and discuss Secular Humanism. Now, it seems to be hijacked into discussing anti-muslim sentiment. And it's not just a single topic...it's several. Am I wrong? Please let me know. While some childish part of me enjoys ridiculing theist religions, I imagined this tribe would primarily discuss humanist attitudes and ideas. If this tribe is only about slamming islam, I'll peacefully leave.
Not that I'm pushing this agenda, but we had to cut Chopper from the atheist tribe for the same behaviour.

Re: Obvious Bias
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 3:55 PMActually, the atheist tribe WAS just fine until the new moderator Mickey and his juvenile friends wrecked it with their ignorance and obvious Dhimwitedness towards addressing the Islam/Muslim issues of our day. Which certainly is a part of secular humanism - identifying the issues and threats. Those who would rather keep their heads in the sand on real issues are not secular humanists.

Re: Obvious Bias
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 4:05 PMLet me get this straight. Chopper has a "bias" because he doesn't want to be forced to bow down to a BARBARIC god made up by a bunch of people a world away.
But you don't have a bias AGAINST Chopper for not wanting to be forced to bow down to a foreign god?
This IS the SECULAR Humanism tribe, isn't it?
And Chopper is "cut loose" from the ATHEIST tribe for trying to educate people about one of the world's most oppressive THEOLOGIES?
It sounds to me like this tribe and the atheist tribe is full of imbeciles who don't even understand what SECULAR HUMANISM and ATHEISM means.
You do understand that secular humanists and atheists are the bottom of the barrel in Muslim countries? You realize that the bleeding heart liberals are used as target practice by Muslim fanatics? (Not to mention something much cruder.)
I really find the idiotic INTOLERANCE for critical thinking on tribe.net to be incredibly offensive. In fact, it's a disgrace. -

Re: Obvious Bias
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 7:58 PMNaw. I understand completely. However, I still support their freedom to believe and say it. While I understand that to be dangerous, I accept that freedom is dangerous. I also support Chopper's freedom to say what he does. I have the right (and I exercise it, trust me) to not read his opinion. I was merely pointing out the fact that he posts pages upon pages against islam specifically. Rather you can argue that he should do it, as you have, or that he has the right, as I have... either way it's a waste of my time and energy to even skim the title before moving on. I was just expecting something different than what exists here, I guess. A tribe that generally spends it's time discussing Secular Humanism. -

Dhimwit
